Yesterday, marked exactly one month until our son, Jacob’s due date: September 3rd. Casey and I spent the evening at our last baby class. If you’re a new and expecting parent I highly recommend them! We decided to partake in a three part series provided by our hospital we are delivering at and I can’t stress enough how beneficial they have been to us new parents to be! Of course, it’s even better if you have to have a little sense of humor when taking them.

Our time in Stowe was magical, truly a winter wonderland. It snowed SO MUCH while we were there it was beautiful. What would normally feel like a blizzard back home in KY, was completely normal there. Our schools would have shut down… the town would have been a complete standstill, but all the snow was no problem there, they were so prepared. And small town school was still in session! Casey and I wondered how much snow they needed to get before the kids were granted a snow day!

We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with family and friends! This winter Casey & I traveled to Vermont for a Christmas getaway to celebrate our delayed honeymoon! When we first were first married we decided it was best to wait and I am so thankful we did. We both have been wanting to visit the mountains, and it has been a dream of mine to visit Vermont ever since watching White Christmas. The trip was every bit of a winter wonderland as we hoped it would be. If you are planning a trip to VT, we highly encourage it. We are sharing a few traveling tips of restaurants and places you must not miss while traveling through Burlington or Stowe.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much has changed since we first got married. We still are madly in love. Today, we have everything and more that we didn’t before. Yet, now I am worried. 100xs more. Somehow from then to now I’ve developed anxiety and a bad habit of worrying. Worry that occupies almost every thought…

This past week Sara and I went to Natural Bridge in Slade, KY (read her post here. I might write one later). Awesome trip. Good hike. I recommend it.
Since then, I have been reminded about life choices, and why I chose certain things over others. I’ve made some huge choices in my time, as have you. But why did you make your choices?

This weekend Casey and I spent Saturday hiking at Natural Bridge, Kentucky State Park. While I absolutely can’t contain my excitement for the arrival of Fall, I was so happy we were able to savor the last bit of Summer with a mini adventure. Traveling and taking road trips is my favorite part of the hot summer months. This year, we haven’t been able to get out and do as much as we planned because of different activities that have gotten the best of our schedules. Needless to say we were happy to detach ourselves from our daily agenda and get away for the day.

Welcome to The Cooley Cottage! This is a blog my wife and I will be writing that’s about all the things we value in life. You might find topics such as Married Life (especially for a young couple such as ourselves), Faith (pros and cons), Love (mostly from her blog from both of us!), Family (mostly great things, of course), and most likely some geeky stuff from me (Star Wars, comics, movies, etc.).

Hello everyone & welcome to the Cooley Cottage Blog!
I am Sara, and I am a 25 year old Kentucky gal who is happily married to the man of my dreams, Casey, who also shares this blog with me! We are recent homeowners who live in the quaint town of Versailles. We have spent the majority of the past year deep in home projects, learning to tackle a mortgage and student loans, making and sometimes failing monthly budgets,
